The Calais Foundation and the Calais School, in partnership with other local resources, is sponsoring the Transitioning to Adult Life Webinar Series to assist families with teens and young adults with special needs.

In April, the free webinar series will feature two important topics. They are: “Understanding the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVRS)” Thursday April 15 from 7-7:45 p.m., which will look at the mission of the DVRS, and “Guardianship and Supported Decision: Just the Basics” Thursday April 29 from 7-7:45 p.m. This workshop will be presented by Jerisa Chiumbu-Maseko, FLE Director, Planning for Adult Life, The ARC of New Jersey and Samantha Alfonso, Esq., member of the Calais Foundation Board. It will help parents and caregivers understand the guardianship process, levels of guardianship and alternatives to guardianship.
