On December 5th, The Calais School was fortunate to have Craig Brown, an award-winning art director and graphic designer with over 20 years of experience speak to our high school students. He has collaborated with a number of large, nationally-recognized corporations including Reader’s Digest, Merck, McDonalds, CVS, American Express, Pfizer, and Pearson, as well as our very own digital arts teacher, Mr. Bracco. Mr. Brown was a set designer for a number of theater, film and video projects including a production of the musical Hair and is the current Vice President of the New York Chapter of the Graphic Artists Guild and runs his own art design company, Craig Brown Designs.
Mr. Brown gave a presentation about the history of print and demonstrated how to create a print ad. He informed the students about different jobs within the digital arts field and spoke about what it’s like to be a digital artist. We are confident Mr. Brown was an inspiration to everyone currently taking our digital arts class and encouraged more students to enroll in digital arts next year.
