New Van Gives Students More Access to College & Career Exploration

New Van Gives Students More Access to College & Career Exploration

Our Transition Program now has a new nine-seater van thanks to funding from Santander Bank and The Calais Foundation. The new van is already transporting students to the County College of Morris, local job sites and community-based outings.

Our Transition Program is designed to enhance student exposure to and preparation for life beyond high school through hands-on learning experiences within the local community. The grant based purchase helps us with ride-sharing and scheduling challenges. It also expands our capacity to provide even more students with access to invaluable resources and opportunities.

“This remarkable gift will open doors for more students, providing them with invaluable off-site learning experiences,” said John Cohrs, Executive Director of The Calais School. “We are incredibly grateful to both The Calais Foundation and Santander Bank’s investment in our students as they build resumes, explore careers, seek vocational training and practice life skills in real world situations.”

Calais Foundation donations support many programs including our Transition Program which prepares students for success beyond high school. Learn more about this impactful program.
