Parent Support Groups
We know how important parent involvement is in the success of our students and our school. Our administrators, teachers, and counselors strive to make themselves available to discuss student development, share pertinent news and help implement strategies that will contribute to success not just in school but at home and in the community. We also understand the daily and long term challenges that parents and caregivers of children with special needs face. That is why we created the Calais Parent Support Group.
Our Parent Support Group is a place for members of the Calais community to share their concerns, offer each other insights and support, and learn from one other. Our counseling staff coordinates this monthly support group with on-site babysitting as a safe space to share ideas and connect with other parents and families struggling with similar difficulties. PTO meetings are typically scheduled directly after for maximum convenience.
Calais case managers and counselors maintain an open channel of communication between parents and when appropriate, outside therapists and doctors. Daily reports home for younger students and the Calais agenda book help parents stay in the loop with what is going on in school.
