Students in the award-winning Twice Exceptional Game Design class have been hard at work this spring and summer learning to code their very own video games. Students recently completed their very first game, “Chocobreak,” an action-arcade puzzle game similar to the classic game “Arkanoid” or “Break Out”. Students learned to program a high score mechanism and create their own unique power-ups. The class also began creating a physics-based game and then will have a chance later in the program to create their own games from scratch.
In June, students in the Twice Exceptional program debuted Chocobreak to the students in Mrs. Braen’s class. They explained how to play their games to the other students. Fun was had by all!
