We’re wrapping up the Extended School Year with a few field trips for students. Students and staff visited Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange yesterday. Fan favorites included the reptile house, jungle cats, penguins, the touch tank and the sea lion exhibit. Many students also enjoyed a relaxing train ride from Turtle Back Junction, the zoo’s miniature train, which takes visitors through the zoo’s beautiful South Mountain Reservation.
Mrs. Russo and our 12Plus students packed brown bag lunches with homemade turkey sandwiches for each student to enjoy on the trip.
Friday students and staff beat the heat at the Whippany Pool where they swam and enjoyed water slides. In between dips, students played knock hockey, tether ball, and card games.
These trips helped everyone nurture the friendships they’ve formed over the summer months and relax a bit as we wrap up our academic program.
