We are off to a great start for a stimulating, creative, and energized new school year! Students are getting back into the swing of things as the first full week of school begins. After a long summer, it has been helpful for all of us to see Cali, our school service dog, give us a warm and friendly welcome in the morning!

A number of new and expanded programs are off to a great start. High school students and 8th graders will be introduced to the new Chromebooks purchased for classroom use. Chromebooks are popular among high school and college and will help our students gain hands-on technology experience in their classrooms. The Twice Exceptional Gifted and Talented Program, Calais STARS (Students That Achieve Reach & Succeed) will begin for students who are gifted in using technology.

Students in grades 3-8 will continue the iPad Infusion Program. Our students are excited to use their school-issued iPads in the classroom, so please do not forget to return your permission slips!

Our counseling team eased the transition back to school for students and staff alike. The counseling team will be holding parent support meetings and workshops to assist parents and families as they meet their unique challenges. Come join us throughout the year for discussion and special presentations. Please check back later this month for meeting dates and times.

Welcome back!
