It’s been a busy couple of days here at The Calais School! As the school year winds down, our students have had a number of special events and activities to help celebrate the end of a great year.

Music teacher Mrs. Mutchler led the symphonic and jazz bands, guitar ensemble, trumpet and piano soloists for The Calais School’s annual Spring Concert. Teachers, administrators, students, and families were in the audience for  a number of hits, including “We Are the World,” “She Loves You,” and “God Bless America.” Selected music students also performed at The Calais Foundation’s “Touchdown for Success” where their musicianship was  a big hit for our distinguished guests.

Students who have achieved the highest level of achievement in our behavior system were rewarded to a trip to Funplex last week. Students have worked hard all year, earning points each period of the school day when they follow their specific behavior plan. These students took a special trip to Funplex, where they enjoyed rides, bumper cars, and arcade games.

Our younger students also had their annual awards breakfast where they were recognized for their accomplishments in academics and the arts this year. Parents and guardians joined their students for a special breakfast and presentation of awards.

All of our students have been working very hard throughout the year and we are all proud of the tremendous progress they’ve made. This week we have several special events scheduled for our upper school students, so please check back soon. The school year may be winding down, but there’s plenty going on at The Calais School!
