This week, Calais students had a healthy dose of reptile fun during two interactive school assemblies from Snakes-n-Scales & Turtle Tales and Dinosaurs Rock.

Dinosaurs Rock brought -, genuine fossils of dinosaur bones and even the cast of a real T-Rex footprint! Students learned about dinosaurs and the fossilization process. PreK-8th grade students discovered genuine fossils during our hands-on fossil dig and took home dinosaur bones, shark teeth, ammonites, and more to start their very own fossil collections.

Snakes-n-Scales taught Calais students all about turtles, boas, and other reptiles and brought a few visitors for our students to meet. All our reptile visitors are rescue animals that have been rehabilitated by Snakes-N-Scales and now help to entertain and educate students throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Our science assemblies encourage students appreciate the wonders of the animal kingdom and teach them about the natural world around us. Our lower school science program will wrap up next week when students and staff visit Turtleback Zoo.
