What do an NFL Alum and a Reiki Master have in common? They both have kind hearts, helpful hands and were both recently honored at the 2017 Calais Foundation Annual Gala.

The Calais Foundation’s Annual Gala was held this year on October 19 at the Green Brook Country Club in Caldwell, and was emceed by N.Y. Giants Alumni, Stephen Baker, “The Touchdown Maker”. In addition to raising over $50,000 to support our programs and services, we were very proud to celebrate our honorees, Damian Gregory and our very own Calais School family member, Paul Vitaletti.

Former NFL MVP star Damian Gregory of the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Detroit Lions, was honored for his service to children with special needs. As head of the Gridiron Group, Gregory hosts annual sporting events at schools to empower children.

Gregory received the Calais Foundation’s The Making a Difference Award for his service to the nonprofit organization.

He oversees a staff of counselors at The Calais School and works with children and their families. The Calais School is grateful for all that Paul has contributed to the school. We are so proud to see him honored with The Leitner in Excellence Award. Paul holds a Master’s Degree in Human Service, Guidance and Counseling, as well as Ed.S.
