Thank you to everyone who donated to The Calais School’s annual Cancer Survivor Day custom gift bags!

As always, Mrs. Vitaletti lead the school in collecting assorted personal care items like tissues, chap stick, lotion, hand sanitizer and more.  Every year, Calais Alum Lizzy Acker decorates each and every bag by hand with colorful designs and positive messages. Upper school student volunteers in Mrs. Reich’s class helped fill the bags with all the donated items. The gift bags will be given to the cancer survivors and their friends and families in attendance at the St. Claire HealthCare annual ice cream social.

National Cancer Survivors Day is an annual, worldwide celebration to honor cancer survivors and to show the world that there is life after a cancer diagnosis. It is a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for the recently diagnosed, and a gathering of support within the community.
