The Calais School now offers a tiered behavioral support model to students in grades K through 6th grade.

Developed by Paul Vitaletti, Head of Psychological Services and Angela Territo, Behavioral Specialist, the model is highly collaborative and structured.

“Our approach is designed to give students the intensive behavioral, academic, and socio-emotional supports they need to learn healthy and adaptive responses to their environments.” explained Mr. Vitaletti.

Highly therapeutic techniques promote mindfulness and empowerment while a tiered continuum provides gradually intensifying interventions.

A dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker, the Counseling & Resource Center teacher, a BCBA, as well as our School Psychologist work with certified teaching staff to effect positive outcomes.

Each space was designed to guide the visitor into a transition of reflection and peace, to achieve a sense of safety through wonder.  Each painted element; the sea life, sun, moon, and sky, have deep meaning and significance. Additional features include warmer lighting and meditative music.
