The Calais School teachers, staff and administration are looking forward to welcoming our Calais School students back to fully in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year!

COVID-19 has been a challenge for all of us and though we are disappointed that we are not yet able to return to an unrestricted routine, our students’ health and safety continues to be a top priority in the new school year.

We also want to inform parents that Calais has recently made some significant investments around the school to help support our students as they continue to reach and exceed their academic and therapeutic goals. We are pleased to share that every student at Calais will now be provided a Chromebook for use in their classes as well as have access to a new iPad in each classroom. Additionally, every classroom is now equipped with a state-of-the-art, interactive Promethean board. These electronic devices will not replace the use of textbooks and worksheets, but instead complement our traditional resources and provide greater options for students to access learning.

We have recently made some important updates to our Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI) program including special gear to help train the dogs and to use during therapy sessions. In addition, we are also in the process of developing our Innovation Lab to provide students the tools, space, and guidance to encourage collaboration and inspire discovery.
