Resident organizer of fun, purveyor of school spirit, lover of all things Calais… we can only be talking about one person, Ms. Connie Musleh.

Whether leading an assembly, capturing a moment through photography, or attending nearly every school-wide event, Ms. Connie Musleh’s effervescence is felt throughout the school.

Ms. Musleh joined the Calais School family in the summer of 2021 as a support staff member. Today, she leads all in-house Work-Based Learning opportunities for upper school students. Under her guidance, students are developing essential employment skills while working at the Calais School Café, Calais School Store, the Calais Relations Committee, and the Entrepreneurial Lab. Additionally, Ms. Musleh works with Calais seniors to produce The Calais School Year Book and leads a child care class for students in 12th grade interested in exploring childcare as a career path.

Though she wears many hats at Calais, Ms. Musleh enjoys empowering her students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed the most. “I aim to help them understand how to navigate workplace situations and thrive as successful young adults,” she shared.

She goes on to describe working through a challenge with her students, “When my students encounter difficulty with a task, we collaborate to overcome the challenge. The moment they successfully complete the task independently, witnessing the sense of accomplishment on their faces is truly rewarding. It’s the epitome of success.”

When asked what working at Calais means to her, Ms. Musleh answered in one word: “Life-changing.” She elaborates, “Calais represents a sense of family to me. The staff not only know each student personally, but the administration also goes above and beyond to foster meaningful connections with both staff and students.”

Ms. Musleh has undoubtedly made an impact on her students. Sarah B describes her as “the best teacher ever.” She adds, “Ms. Musleh always makes me smile, and she is so funny. She always has a positive mood.”

Her colleagues too appreciate her dedication and commitment to the school and her students. “She works very hard in all her classes and goes above and beyond for the kids. She loves the Calais School and always has a smile,” comments Ms. Zecchino. Another staff member reiterated the sentiment, “she is dedicated to the students 1000% of the time!”

When Ms. Musleh is not in the classroom, she is busy spreading joy and building camaraderie among staff members as the head of the Sunshine Club. All in all, she is always ready to step up wherever needed, and her positive energy is truly contagious! We value you and your dedication to the Calais mission.
