Teachers, administrators, students and families were in the audience Friday afternoon for The Calais School’s annual Winter Concert. The Calais chorus and bands performed selections from The Nutcracker and Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, as well as holiday favorites “Jingle Bells,” “The Dreidel Song,” and Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas.”

Music teacher Mrs. Mutchler led the symphonic and jazz bands, guitar ensemble and Calais chorus in a spirited concert which also featured violin, trumpet and piano solos from our students. The Calais Guitar Ensemble and our trumpet soloist Victor each performed “Ode to Joy” from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The Calais chorus wowed the audience with their rendition of “The Reindeer Rap” and “Put Your Hand In My Hand.”

Students have been rehearsing for the show for the past few months and we are all proud of the progress they’ve made! We’d like to thank everyone that made the concert a success: Mrs. Mutchler for putting together a wonderful and exciting show, Mr. Rosocha for accompanying the chorus on the bass guitar, our student performers for their hard work, and our great parents, friends and families for being a great audience.

Happy Holidays!
