Our annual Winter Concert was a holiday treat for the Calais family Friday afternoon. Music teacher Mrs. Mutchler led our singers and instrumentalists in a spirited concert which also featured guitar, saxophone, and piano solos from our students.

Our student singers taught us about the many holidays of December.

Our student singers taught us about the many holidays of December.

The Calais Symphonic Band performed “Celebration of Hanukkah” and a selection from Dvorak’s “New World Symphony.”

Soloists entertained the audience with holiday favorites “Up on the Housetop,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.”

The Calais chorus taught the audience about the variety of holidays this month through the song “The Holidays of December.”

A vocal solo of “Climb Every Mountain” inspired the audience before the Calais Teacher Chorus took the stage for their debut performance.

Students and staff have been rehearsing for the show for the past few months and we are all proud of their level of musicianship! We’d like to thank everyone that made the concert a success: Mrs. Mutchler for putting together a wonderful show, Mr. Rosocha for accompanying on bass guitar, our student performers for their hard work, and our parents, friends and families for being a great audience.

Wishing happy holidays to all!
