Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is as tool that can provide results for physical, emotional, and performance issues. Commonly referred to as tapping or psychological acupressure, EFT has a lot of similarities to acupuncture. EFT focuses on the meridian points — or energy hot spots — to restore balance to your body’s energy. It’s believed that restoring this energy balance can relieve symptoms triggered by a negative experience or emotion. A combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive affirmations works to clear the emotional block. Tapping can be very effecting in helping to calm anxieties and allow space for a fresh perspective.
The use of EFT involves a two pronged process where you tune into specific issues while tapping on specific meridian points. Many students at The Calais School find this tool to be very effective. Students often request EFT when they are feeling stress, anxiety, sadness, etc. By helping students to gain control over their emotions and mental well being, the process of tapping gives them a sense of empowerment.
