Heather, a recent Calais graduate, said the Calais School inspired her to go to college and study at the occupational therapy assistant program at the County College of Morris, so she can help others the same way Calais helped her.

“All of the teachers and staff members at The Calais School taught me something about myself. Each staff member helped me better understand myself and my feelings and helped me better grow as a person. I have had many laughs and good memories with teachers, counselors, and staff. They have taught me how to be successful for the future. While being at the Calais School, I have learned so much and achieved so many of my goals, thanks to all the guidance.

During my time at the Calais School, I have made everlasting friendships. We have great memories and amazing stories to tell. While we all learned to work as a team, even though it was difficult at times, we learned how to improve communication and to collaborate. When I was having rough days, I knew I could always count on my friends to bring a smile to my face. I know, even though we are graduating, we will always have our everlasting friendships.

I will be forever grateful for the skills and confidence that I have developed for the past four years.”
