Earth Day is as an important event here at The Calais School and the entire school gets involved in lots of fun pro-planet activities.

Earth Day at Calais

This year in honor of Earth Day the students in Mrs. T’s class took to the outdoors to collect garbage. Each student was responsible for filling their own garbage bag and they did a great job collecting discarded bottles, wrappers and other litter around the school grounds. We appreciate their efforts to keep our planet and Calais clean.

Ms. Davies’s class also got their hands dirty planting beautiful spring flowers in the school yard. Now everyone gets to enjoy their hard work as the daffodils bloom. Elsewhere in school, students decorated the halls with uplifting messages about our planet. Our 12 Plus students keep everyone accountable for properly disposing of their waste with a school wide recycling program. Earlier this year they delivered designated recycling boxes to the classrooms and offices which are emptied regularly.
