After reading the novel Tuck Everlasting, Ms. Perillo’s reading group completed a character analysis project using cereal boxes. The students had to use their creativity to complete a different assignment for each side of the box. Once completed, each box illustrated a complete analysis of the assigned characters’ personality traits, interests, and even appearance.
The “thinking outside the box” analysis project required the students to use their critical thinking and comprehension skills while tapping into their creative juices. The class appreciated the untraditional book report approach and enjoyed designing their boxes.
Their finished projects are currently displayed in the hallway of our elementary school.
