May 24th, Red Nose Day, is a day dedicated to ending child poverty, both in the US and in some of the poorest communities in the world. The money raised by Red Nose Day in the US has benefited programs for youth across the country and in many countries internationally.

This year to help raise awareness our lower school, with the assistance of the 21st Century Life and Career Skills student mentors, put together some fun Red Nose Day activities for the rest of the school.

Faculty and students had a blast at all the different stations which included hula-hooping, pin the red nose on Assistant Principal Mr. Sokolwwicz, bowling and a cup stacking race. It was a great experience that also helped Calais students think more globally and with empathy about the lives of other children in the US that may be less fortunate.

The students also felt empowered as they discovered that they can make a positive change in the world.
