When you walk through the halls of Calais each day, it’s easy to notice the clean, welcoming, and well-cared-for environment that helps students feel comfortable and ready to learn. Behind that environment is Angela Garica, a member of the Calais Maintenance Team, whose hard work, dedication, and positive attitude make a difference throughout the school every single day. 

Known for her warm smile and friendly nature, Angela is a familiar and valued presence in our community and someone students and staff alike are always happy to see. Staff members are quick to point out Angela’s positive impact:

Angela takes great pride in helping create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where students can focus on learning and growing. She understands that every detail matters and that maintaining a school takes consistency, care, and commitment. While much of her work happens behind the scenes, her impact is felt throughout the building every day.

When asked what she enjoys most about working at Calais, Angela pointed to the incredible colleagues she works alongside and the strong sense of community that exists throughout the school. Asked to describe Calais in one word, she chose “Inclusion”—a reflection of the welcoming, supportive environment that makes Calais such a special place.
