Last Thursday, March 7, 2019, The Calais School basketball team defeated Windsor Academy 46 to 37 to advance to the league championship game. With the entire school, staff, administration, pep band and spirit squad in attendance, the team delivered a great game for their home crowd. The team was down by seven points at halftime but they never quit and turned things around for a well-deserved win.

When asked about his team’s performance, Coach Femia explained, “We spoke as a team before the game to reiterate our team mantra: Everyone on this team has each others back, we problem solve and work TOGETHER, we play TOGETHER and for each other.”

Throughout the season, the Cougars have shown perseverance, determination and dedication. The team is learning lessons out on the court that can be applied to real life: resiliency, teamwork and humility. The coaches, teachers, administration and entire community have seen the commitment of this team to their sport and to each other. This memorable season continues to lift The Calais School community. The Calais School (7-1) will head to The Chancellor Academy (7-0) for what is sure to be a great finish to an already memorable season.
