What will drive CHANGE in 2023? Literally, at The Calais School, it will be a new passenger van!

Thanks to your generous donations to the Calais Foundation’s Year-End Appeal we have raised $6,000 of the $50,000 needed for a new van to support our expanding 12 Plus program. The new van will literally drive change for Calais 12 Plus students by offering access to life-changing opportunities and support as they plan and prepare for their future and gain the skills to live fulfilling, independent lives.  

The Calais School 12 plus Program has been instrumental in supporting and preparing many students as they cross over from high school to pursue college degrees, vocational training or employment. The program is rapidly growing and with this growth comes an additional demand for transporting more students as they explore career paths, pursue college degrees, and learn from real-world work experiences.

The 12 Plus Program is just one example of the many Calais School programs which receive funding from the Calais Foundation. The Calais Foundation began 16 years ago as the fundraising arm of The Calais School. Since its inception, The Calais Foundation has raised and gifted over $1,000,000 which has supported programs like Animal Assisted Interventions, learn n’ earn stipends for working students, monthly parent support groups, school-wide events and more.

In Calais, students benefit from individualized attention, therapeutic support and innovative programming that paves the way for future success. However, this experience comes at a price that extends beyond the covered cost of tuition. When you make a donation or attend a Calais Foundation event such as the Annual Spring Gala, you are doing more than just enjoying a fun evening. You are playing an integral role to ensure the success of our students.
