Students have been hard at work rehearsing for the Calais School Spring musical, The Wizard of Oz.

For months now, students have been memorizing their lines. Some very creative people on staff here have made costumes, alterations, headdresses, and props for our students. Mr. Catalano has been working diligently with our stagecraft students to create some wonderful sets. With Mr. Amaya’s help he has built and painted some beautiful sets to bring Kansas, Munchkinland, the Yellow Brick Road, and of course the Land of Oz to life.

Our director, the Divine Ms. Mutchler, has been enthusiastic throughout rehearsals. She shared,

All of the cast is very supportive of each other and helps each other. This has truly been an all-around school effort from the Administration to staff to students.

This past week has been tech week, with students in full costume working with lights and sound.

When the curtain goes up next week, our audience will be in for a real treat! We can’t wait…
