The Calais School’s annual Spring Concert, featuring student singers and musicians, entertained an audience of proud parents, guardians, family members, and friends this afternoon. The school band opened their “Movie Magic” concert with the Star Spangled Banner and started off the concert with Michael Jackson’s Thriller to warm up the audience for the Calais elementary school choir.

The younger students performed a Pass It On musical presentation, and “passed on” everything from smiles to a big ball!

Darrin and Justin performed a swinging version of 12 Bar Blues complete with Blues Brothers hats and shades.

The high school choir performed two audience favorites–Boulevard of Broken Dreams and the Beatles classic Let It Be. Justin S. joined them for the Queen hit We Are the Champions and the audience sang along!

The teacher choir’s rendition of the Sinatra standard New York, New York ended with a Rockette-style kick line, which they followed with James Taylor’s You’ve Got a Friend and Whitney Houston’s Greatest Love of All.

To wrap up the concert, the school band rocked out to Mission to Rock and closed the concert with a school-wide favorite…. the theme to Star Wars! Thank you to our wonderful student and staff musicians who have practiced diligently for this day. A special thank you goes out to music teacher Mrs. Mutchler for putting together such a great show and to our audience… thank you to our parents and guardians for supporting us!
